Vasja Grabner is a artist, painter, draughtsman and designer born in 1976 in Slovenia. He is the author of works in which he subtly deals with the field of human thought, consciousness, the construction of reality, and thus issues that touch upon the fundamental psychological value system of the individual and society. His creation is based on the findings of modern psychology, science and philosophy, which he interprets in the visual field.
His works are thought experiments that test the viewer's own beliefs. They invite him to think more deeply and to cross the boundaries of the mental frameworks he takes over from society.
Most of his work is focused on painting. Recently, he also uses installation or video for the needs of complex explanations of concepts. Aesthetics and beauty are of great importance in his work. Nevertheless, the pleasure of viewing is joined by the intellectual pleasure behind the concepts of his works.
In 2010, as a defender of humanity, he participated in to the successful international art project ART FOR JUSTICE, who stood up for human rights and problems of minorities. Since 2013, he deals with the field of human thought, consciousness, the construction of reality, and thus issues that touch upon the fundamental psychological value system of the individual and society. He also presents his findings in the form of lectures at prominent international companies, at an international festival and at the faculty.
He received international awards and nominations for his works.
